Thank you for reading Frame & Story. We are an independent, enthusiast-run resource, and we genuinely welcome messages from the people who use these guides — whether you have a question about the craft, a correction to something we got wrong, or a suggestion for a topic we should cover next. Good filmmaking is a shared craft, and this resource gets better every time a reader pushes back on it, catches an error, or asks the question we forgot to answer.
Send Us a Message
Use the form below to reach us. Please tell us which guide your message relates to, if any, so we can respond in context. We read everything, though as a small independent project we cannot always reply to every note individually, and detailed questions may take us a little while to answer properly.
The most useful messages tend to be specific. If you spotted something that seems wrong or out of date in one of the guides, a sentence or two describing exactly where and what will help us fix it quickly for the next reader. If you are asking for advice on a project, a short description of what you are trying to make — the form, the constraints, and where you are stuck — lets us point you toward the right guide instead of a generic answer. And if there is a corner of the craft we have not covered yet, tell us; the topic list here grows almost entirely from reader suggestions.
A Note on What We Can Help With
Because we are a guide and not a production company, there are some things we cannot do: we cannot make your film, crew your shoot, or connect you with talent or vendors, and we do not offer paid services of any kind. What we can do is help you understand the craft, point you toward good practices, and — we hope — give you the confidence to make the thing yourself. If you are just starting out, our guide to making short films is the best place to begin.
